GIS‑Enabled Residential Supply Layer & Forecasts for Whittlesea

Demographic Solutions was commissioned by the City of Whittlesea Council to a develop a Residential Supply Layer of all short/medium term projects and timing information. The assessment also highlighted strategic opportunities beyond 2041, enabling Council to more effectively plan for future growth, infrastructure provision and policy development.

Early Years Service Planning – Yarraville & Maidstone

Demographic Solutions collaborated with ASR Research to assess early years demand in Yarraville and Maidstone by analysing MCH enrolments, kindergarten engagement and walkable accessibility. This analysis validated the requirement for a new facility, defining the optimal service type and scale to meet future community needs.

Population & Dwelling Forecasts for Water Infrastructure Planning

Demographic Solutions collaborated with Spatial Economics to provide independent dwelling and population forecasts for South East Water. This analysis provided the evidence base to scale water infrastructure delivery and long-term planning across their catchment. DS also benchmarked it's forecast to State Government's population forecasts (VIF2025).

Review of the Impacts of Covid-19 on Student Population Projections

Demographic Solutions was engaged by .id to advise Sydney Catholic School (SCS) on potential growth opportunities, outlining the impact COVID-19 would have on each of the SCS’s 14 defined school networks’ current and future enrolment patterns. Meant to provide an additional level of corroboration, our findings were used as a point of comparison against SCS’s existing forecasts conducted prior to COVID-19.

Demographic Solutions was engaged for Strategic Site Acquisition NSW, identifying 13 optimal retail locations via blue-collar demographic mapping and 10-year growth forecasting to ensure long-term commercial viability.

Micro-area Population Forecast Model For City Of Whittlesea's Infrastructure Prioritisation Tool

The City of Whittlesea commissioned DS to help them create a 2016 to 2051 micro-area population forecast model for Council’s Infrastructure Prioritisation tool. This in-house micro-area population forecasting model would be based on Council development staging and demographic assumptions to produce ‘baseline’ population and household forecasts. DS extended the bounds of the model by developing one that would also respond to the ongoing changes occurring within the City of Whittlesea.

Population Forecast Review for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) approached DS to prepare the peer review. DS was asked to examine the methodology, approach and analysis undertaken by AMJV to adjust the State Government population projections for Southern Adelaide.
